Dr Josephine Sutcliffe

Jo is Head of Asset Management for UniQuest.

Her role is concerned with the management of the start-up company & licence portfolio, including: governance & compliance, deal structuring & valuations, royalty flow, and chairing the proof-of-concept scheme. Prior to UniQuest, Jo worked at universities in the UK. Most recently at Imperial College London where she undertook Intellectual Property governance and contract negotiations.

Jo has a basic research background in Biochemistry and holds a Ph.D. from the University of Glasgow. Her dissertation focused on the regulation of cell-cycle in progression. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Max-Planck Institute, Munich, researching the regulation of cell division, and was then awarded a European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) fellowship to study a tumour suppressor protein in the model organisation Drosophila Melanogaster at the Adolf-Butenandt Institute, Munich.
