Andrew is the Director of Partnerships at UniQuest’s Queensland Emory Drug Discovery Initiative (QEDDI).

Prior to joining UniQuest, Andrew was the Vice President of Drug Discovery at Bionomics Limited (Adelaide, Australia), a publicly-listed discovery and development company working across oncology, neuroscience and inflammation. In this role, he was responsible for leading chemistry and IP in programs ranging from hit identification to phase II clinical development, including two programs partnered with Merck & Co. While at Bionomics, Andrew worked closely with the Cancer Therapeutics Cooperative Research Centre (CTx) as an industry partner and a member of the CTx operations group.

Previously, Andrew was an NHMRC Industry Fellow at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (Melbourne, Australia), where his research focused on autoimmune disease. He obtained his PhD in biological chemistry at the University of Canterbury (Christchurch, New Zealand).

Alister Morrison

Alister joined UniQuest in 2018 and manages the Physical Sciences Commercialisation Team.

Alister is a senior management professional with over twenty years of strategic international experience. He has held senior career roles in mergers and acquisitions, economics, business development, strategy, planning and technical asset development with Gulf Keystone Petroleum and Pioneer Natural Resources. He has also spent time with strategy and technology management consultancy, Arthur D. Little (ADL) and energy research firm, Wood Mackenzie, and was earlier a research and international operations geophysicist.

Alister’s international experience includes Europe, Australia, USA, Middle East, Africa and Asia.

He remains committed to innovation and economic development, particularly in developing countries and regions, and generating commercial returns for investors through shared, sustainable public-private partnerships.

Alister holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology and an MSc in Applied Geophysics, both from the University of Birmingham, UK. He is also a certified PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner, a Fellowship Member of The Geological Society of London, a Professional Member of The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and an active member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN).

Craig Belcher

Dr Craig Belcher

Senior Director and Head of Life Sciences

Craig has more than 20 years of experience in commercialising technology within the biotechnology, nanotechnology and advanced materials industries, having done deals in the US, UK, China, Korea and Australia.

He has a PhD in biotechnology and an MBA, both from the University of Queensland. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a member of AusBiotech and a past director of the Australian Nanotechnology Association.

Craig joined UniQuest in 2004 as the Manager, Innovation and Commercial Development responsible for both the Queensland Brain Institute and the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology. In that role, he closed over 15 deals bringing in over $50 million of research income for the University of Queensland and was instrumental in the raising of >$17 million in venture capital for four UniQuest start-up companies.
