Colin joined UniQuest in 2020 and manages the Physical Sciences Commercialisation Team.
Since graduating in chemical engineering, Colin has worked across a wide range of sectors on the commercialisation of early-stage technology. He has over 10 years’ experience in project management and business development roles, in particular supporting several nascent university spin-outs. He previously worked as a strategy consultant, where he advised clients on growth strategy and technology & innovation management, and as a product & technology development consultant.

Nicole leads the Marketing & Communications team at UniQuest.
Nicole has been promoting outcomes from research commercialisation for more than 15 years. With strengths in marketing strategy, stakeholder engagement and government relations, Nicole designs and delivers initiatives that build stakeholder relationships and support the commercialisation of UQ’s innovative technologies.
Before joining UniQuest, Nicole drove the marketing and communications activities at BioSA, the South Australian government’s biotechnology industry development body. In this role, Nicole developed international attraction campaigns to foster relationships between government, academia and industry. Before this, Nicole served as a media officer to the Premier of South Australia and as a ministerial liaison to the South Australian Water Corporation.
Nicole is a Certified Practicing Marketer and a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute.

Brian Dymock

Head of QEDDI
Brian leads the chemistry and biology groups at QEDDI working on small molecule preclinical drug discovery. Previously, Brian worked in discovery research and development in large pharmaceutical companies, biotech and academia. He was Associate Professor in Medicinal Chemistry at the National University of Singapore and previously Head of Chemistry for S*BIO Pte Ltd in Singapore, where his team was responsible for the discovery of Pacritinib, Pracinostat, TG02, VS-5584 and two other clinical candidates. Pacritinib was approved by the FDA in 2022 for myelofibrosis patients with low platelets. Brian led the chemistry team at Vernalis which discovered Luminespib in collaboration with the Institute of Cancer Research. Brian has also been a Department Manager at Evotec and a Team Leader at Roche UK. He earned his PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Glasgow. Brian has served as an Editorial Advisory Board Member for the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry since 2020.

Andrew Harvey

Head of Strategic Partnerships - QEDDI
Andrew is the Head of Strategic Partnerships at UniQuest’s Queensland Emory Drug Discovery Initiative (QEDDI).
Prior to joining UniQuest, Andrew was the Vice President of Drug Discovery at Bionomics Limited (Adelaide, Australia), a publicly-listed discovery and development company working across oncology, neuroscience and inflammation. In this role, he was responsible for leading chemistry and IP in programs ranging from hit identification to phase II clinical development, including two programs partnered with Merck & Co. While at Bionomics, Andrew worked closely with the Cancer Therapeutics Cooperative Research Centre (CTx) as an industry partner and a member of the CTx operations group.
Previously, Andrew was an NHMRC Industry Fellow at the Walter and Eliza Hall Institute (Melbourne, Australia), where his research focused on autoimmune disease. He obtained his PhD in biological chemistry at the University of Canterbury (Christchurch, New Zealand).

Ben Phillis

Ben is the Investment Manager at UniQuest.
Prior to UniQuest, Ben worked in a number of roles for Mayne Pharma in innovation and business development and has experience in pharmaceutics, modified release formulations, ‘super-generics’ and pharmaceutical product life-cycle management.
Ben has a research background in pharmacology and toxicology and holds a Ph.D. (Med.) from The University of Adelaide. His dissertation was concerned with cardiotoxicity associated with drugs of abuse. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship in neuropharmacology at the Hanson Institute, working on a drug discovery program funded by AstraZeneca.

She has been with UniQuest for 25 years and was appointed Financial Controller in 2000.

Jane Malloch

Jane has been UniQuest’s General Counsel since July 2017 after leading The University of Queensland (UQ) Research Legal team for more than a decade. There she provided expert legal advice and strategic, complex and high-value solutions to the UQ research community including support for university commercialisation. Prior to her role at UQ, Jane was a University of Technology Sydney Senior University Lawyer and the Director of Legal Services at Griffith University.
Before entering the higher education sector, Jane was a Commercial Officer for Rio Tinto and practiced as a commercial lawyer in Sydney, London and New Zealand.
