AG/Food Investor Fund Presentation Opportunity
Expressions of Interest (EOI)
Available to UQ Researchers.
Event Dates: 12 October (St. Lucia Campus) & 13 October (Gatton Campus)
UniQuest is inviting UQ researchers to express interest in presenting their idea, research or innovation to a small group of investors and commercialisation professionals visiting UQ this October.
We’re hosting Aleta Knowles from UniSeed, Australia’s longest-running university venture fund, who will meet with selected researchers to explore emerging opportunities across animal health, husbandry and genomics, and veterinary sciences.
This is a chance to explore the real-world potential of your research, receive commercially relevant feedback, and connect with people who turn research into outcomes.
This is not limited to mature technologies or investor-ready ventures.
We’re interested in hearing about:
- Early-stage discoveries with commercial potential
- Novel technologies, methods, platforms or datasets
- Research that addresses a significant industry challenge
- Research with applications beyond its original field
- Ideas that could benefit from commercialisation support, industry engagement or investment pathways
- Researchers passionate about translating their work into real-world impact.
If you’re unsure whether your research is “ready” — apply anyway. Some of the most interesting commercial opportunities emerge long before a technology is fully developed. We’re as interested in promising ideas and entrepreneurial researchers as we are in established projects.
Research with relevance to animal health and related industries is particularly encouraged — including technologies originally developed for other fields.
Why participate?
Selected researchers will:
- Present their work to investors and commercialisation professionals
- Receive feedback on potential applications, markets and translation pathways
- Gain experience communicating research to non-academic audiences
- Build connections across industry, investment and commercialisation networks
- Explore future partnerships, funding and impact opportunities.
Selected applicants will be invited to deliver a short presentation and participate in a discussion with the visiting group. Applications are welcome from researchers at all career stages — PhD candidates, postdoctoral researchers, research staff and academic staff.
Late-stage EOI close: 5pm 7th October 2026
With only eight places available per day, selection will be competitive. We encourage you to submit your EOI early.
